Line Column Composite Insulator

Composite line posts for 10 kV, 4 kN and 5 kN, with the same mounting as the porcelain pin they replace.

Rated voltage
10 kV

4 and 5 kN
Creepage

Length
215–250 mm

A composite line post does the job of a pin insulator on a 10 kV arm, in one moulded part. The core takes the bending load where the porcelain body would crack, and the silicone housing sheds water instead of wetting out.

The fixing is made to the same centres as the porcelain pin, so a line can be rebuilt with these without changing the cross-arm or the spindle. Four types are made, at 4 kN and 5 kN.

The T in the designation marks the threaded foot; FPS is the plain-shed version with a 90 mm shed.

Choosing a Type

  • Same Footprint

The mounting matches the porcelain pin insulator, so the arm and the spindle stay as they are.

  • Creepage Choice

300 mm covers clean routes; 420 mm is the polluted-route version, 35 mm longer and with a bigger arcing distance.

Every unit is routine-tested before it is packed, and each type is type-tested before it is offered for supply.
