Porcelain Insulators Made in Liling, Hunan
Hunan Haidian Electrical Porcelain Appliance Co., Ltd. has been producing high- and low-voltage insulators, high-voltage apparatus and matching power equipment since 2018 — all of it at one plant.
Company Profile
We were founded in November 2018 in Liling, Hunan. Liling is where roughly 30% of China's electrical porcelain is made, and our plant covers more than 13,000 m².
The range covers porcelain, glass and composite insulators, metal oxide surge arresters, isolation switches, drop-out fuses and wall bushings. Parts from this plant are in service in China's UHV grid — the 1000 kV AC and ±800 kV DC projects listed below.

Reference Projects
China's UHV grid runs at 1000 kV AC and ±800 kV DC — the highest transmission voltages in service anywhere. Parts made in this plant have gone into the projects below.
- 2020
Qinghai–Henan ±800 kV UHVDC
The first UHV corridor built specifically to carry clean energy out of Qinghai; designed for 40 TWh a year.
- 2020
Zhumadian–Nanyang, Zhangbei–Xiong'an and West Inner Mongolia–Jinzhong 1000 kV UHVAC
Part of the North China 1000 kV AC backbone.
- 2021
Nanchang–Changsha 1000 kV UHVAC
The first UHV project started under China's 14th Five-Year Plan; 2 × 341 km, CNY 10.2 billion.
- 2022
Baihetan–Jiangsu ±800 kV UHVDC
Fully commissioned in December 2022; transfer capacity raised to 8 GW.
- 2024
Zhangbei–Shengli 1000 kV UHVAC
732 km, CNY 6.79 billion, more than 70 TWh a year.
- 2025
Longdong–Shandong ±800 kV UHVDC
China's first integrated wind–solar–thermal–storage base export project.
- 2026
Shaanxi–Anhui ±800 kV UHVDC
1,055 km, more than 36 TWh a year.
History
- 2018
Company founded in Liling; insulator production begins at the site we still work from.
- 2019
ISO 9001 quality management certified; the inspection chain from incoming material to finished part is put in place.
- 2022
ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified, recognised as a High-tech Enterprise, and granted the national grid access certificate.
Production and Testing
Insulators fail for boring reasons — a bad batch of clay, a kiln that drifted, a cracked shed nobody looked at. The process is arranged to catch those early.
- 01
Incoming Material Is Checked, Not Trusted
Clay bodies, glazes and metal fittings are measured when they arrive. Finished pieces are inspected one by one before packing, not by sampling a box.
- 02
Process Parameters Run Under Automated Control
Kiln curves and process settings are computer-controlled and monitored, which keeps a batch consistent and takes the result out of individual hands.
- 03
One Inspection Chain, Start to Finish
Incoming inspection, in-process checks and final appearance inspection sit in a single line, so a deviation is caught where it happens instead of at the end.
Certifications
Scans of the original certificates are sent with a quotation, or on request.
