A line post holds the conductor sideways on a vertical porcelain column. The load that matters is bending at the base, not tensile in the string, so the type number is the failing load in kilonewtons.
The list runs from 3 kN to 12.5 kN. Longer stems and more sheds take creepage from 250 mm up to 1450 mm on the same 12.5 kN body, which is how the same post covers clean and heavily polluted routes.

Choosing a Type
Bending Not Tensile
The rating is the bending load at the base, not the tensile load of a string. It is the number in the type: R12.5 stands for 12.5 kN.
Creepage Length
At 12.5 kN the same body is offered from 250 mm to 1450 mm creepage; the long versions are for coast and cement dust.
Stem Height
Total height runs from 190 mm to 660 mm. The taller stems clear the conductor further from the pole, at the cost of a larger bending moment.
